Newton Aycliffe Karate Club

ABOUT
Newton Aycliffe Karate Club traces its roots to the 1960s. We are a community-run club offering practical karate training for adults and children.

We focus on realistic self-defence, fitness, applied traditional learning, and steady progression — taught in a supportive, respectful environment.

We are fully affiliated with the British Combat Karate Association, and work closely with its senior members.

ADULT CLASSES
Our adult classes are suitable for complete beginners as well as those returning to karate after time away.

Training covers:
Fundamental karate techniques
Fitness, balance, and coordination
Confidence and self-control
Structured progression at your own pace
You do not need prior experience, a high level of fitness, or specialist equipment to start.

CHILDREN & JUNIOR CLASSES (from 6yr old)
We also run well-established junior classes focused on:
Discipline and focus
Confidence and self-respect
Safe, structured physical activity
Classes are age-appropriate and taught with care and consistency.

TRAINING TIMES
We train together at Newton Aycliffe Youth & Community Centre:

Tuesday & Thursday
Children & Junior Classes: 6.30 - 7.25pm
Adult Classes: 7.30 - 8.30pm

Additional sessions & seminars take place throughout the year.

HOW TO JOIN
If you are interested in joining — or would like to observe a class before taking part — please get in touch.

We are not a commercial franchise. We are a local club, run by experienced martial artists in our own time, for the benefit of our members.

We are happy to answer questions and guide you through the next steps.
